7 Weeks in Country

Finally got few minutes to catch up on things. Yesterday had to go visit a critical care hospital we finished and is in operation and a Primary Health Care Clinic (PHC) where ordinary folks can get some medical attention. Saddam used this hospital as private health facility for only his favorites. Now since we've refurbished it ordinary folks in Baghdad have a place to send their critical care heart patients and the local media wanted to do an interview so I obliged them. They also wanted to visit a PHC in another part of the city which we're just finishing up. I'm waiting to get equipment delivered soon and turn it over to the Minister of Health where 3 to 400 neighborhood folks can visit daily for primary health care needs...imagine what it must have been like all these years being sick and having no medical folks or facilites available to you unless you were one of Saddam's "chosen people"....Just thought you'd like to see how things are really going around here in spite of the IEDs ...our guys are just awesome

Comments:
Wow Buff, what a blessing these facilities will be to so many after so long. Things we just take for granted. I hope you don't have to wait too long for the equipment!
Thanks for the photos; they make such a difference to us at home. Love,

Uncle Marcel...thanks for the kindness. These guys really deserve our deepest gratitude. Each day things get better as some neighborhoods get crazier and crazier. The "virgin hunters" are getting their wish and finding their way to "virginville" and we keep turning lights on 1 bulb at a time...Love to family....

I know what you must be going through in all aspects of your job. It's not an easy task, but you are not one to take on what's easy. You always seem to find a way to accomplish the difficult. Thanks again for your service and the contribution that you are making. Your effort and the effort of those you work along side will endure for a lifetime. I know the everyday Iraqi citizen appreciates all that you are doing to help make there life a little better.

A day does not go by without me thinking of you and praying that you are safe!

Take care good buddy, Harley

Harland...What a nice surprise. Thought you had sailed off into the sunset and forgotten all the good things you left behind...LOL I remember often the chats we had with fondness. You were and are a special man and I'm richer for having shared some time with ya in the "sands of time"...Enjoy the retirement my friend, you've earned it...God bless

Well said.
