14th Week in Country

Good to be 100% again after a week of chest cold. Long hours finally caught up and had to slow down a bit. Back up and running now so here's where we're at. My boss left last week and new guys are getting up to speed. I take some to my jobs to show them what's goin on and where they are the base. Soon they'll all have 2 or 3 projects of their own to manage and they'll be ready. 2 of them are here for 6 months and 2 will be here for a year soooooo, I'm not the last man to leave here anymore! These guys will be here 2 or 3 months after I leave next summer but in the next few weeks - by Thanksgiving - we're losing 2 more Con Reps soooooooooo, we'll be lookin for 2-4 more new ones coming after Christmas. Anyway, the projects are coming along fine - see pics. One of the "owners" (the U.S. Army) rep is guy named Major Ephraim... (see pic)He's from Raleigh/Greensboro area and is on his way home so hopefully some of you will be seeing him. Eph said he'll try to contact Colette when he's in Greenville and say hay...
And now for "the rest of the story"... Things have been quieting down some since the vote last week. As time goes on and democracy takes hold, these nutzoids are goin to find it more and more difficult to find another "safe haven" to ply their murderous trade. Our soldiers are really special people. The day after the Vote there was no screamin and shoutin...just another day to take care of business...just like the pros that they are. Yall would be very proud of them. They're awesome to behold doin the things I cannot relate here but believe me, they're awesome. I hope all is well back there in South Florida as I know Wilma takes her licks at us tonight and tomorrow. Here again, another opportunity to show the world what Americans can do in the face of a pending disaster during a war. You all are in my prayers...

Happy Birthday Buddie

Today is my son William's 10th birthday and so I want to wish you the very best Buddie. Daddy's there with you in spirit and riding with you on your electric motor bike! Sure wish I could see ya but Mom will send a pic so I can see ya on it. Ride it in good health and remember the rules of the road. Maybe you can teach Daddy how to ride it when I come home and we can ride together around the neighborhood, or I can get one like yours ! would that be fun or what?
I've been very busy as of late and haven't been able to keep up with things back there as much I'd like. Good news is we got in 4 new guys from San Antonio Corps office over the weekend so I've been spending time with them getting them up to speed on the projects we have goin on here. They're great guys and a blessing to see their unselfish attitude and willingness to help out as quickly as possible. It never ceases to amaze me how great the spirit of America is when I meet folks like this. (see pic). Shortly, they'll begin being responsible for paving more runways at the airport here and building new barracks and base hospital.
Great talking with ya on your birthday, William. Daddy misses you and Mom very much. I pray Elise will have a healthy child soon and Bob will do good in delivery. I love yall. God bless.
