22 Weeks in Country and Merry CHRISTmas All

Already Christmas will be here next Sunday 1 week from today. Gosh, it seems like yesterday I was riding to Winchester with Marissa's Godfather to begin my crash 1 week course preparing me for Iraq. So much has happened in that time I cannot begin to try tell you here. Soon , February, good Lord willing, I'll do my best to share all this with you. In the meantime, I'm headed for Camp Victory, another FOB on the outskirts of western Baghdad to visit with my nephew - a marine Intel guy from dondabay, yeh sher ("down the bayou, right friend" for my academic friends...LOL) Chopper ride won't take but half an hour and then after a day or so, I'll chopper over to GRD "Washington" - helo pad in the "Green Zone" to visit Tony G my ole buddie from TAC training. He's from Mass with a bride and 2 younguns about William's age so we'll "console" each other about missing Christmas this year with NA Beer...wooo wooo...LOL Anyway, I'll be back Thursday and have neat pics for ya next weekend for my Christmas present to yall. The pic is my guys opening their gift of goodies from the 4th graders at St Peter's. Thank you Lisa for lookin after William and makin this a memorable learning experience for him and his classmates...

Richard...Thanks for your kindness. I'll be sure to pass on to the guys. Merry Christmas and God bless. ...
Erin...Congratulations girl. I'm sure you can do it if you put your mind to it. It's all about focus and determination...you know all about this stuff better than most ...anyone who can train for, run in and complete a marathon girl can certainly get through 2nd semester Chem..LOL. Besides,
it's practical applications and lab work. The math part you can learn with practice and "coaching" from another student. It really isn't rocket science but it is intimidating to the faint hearted...and faint hearted you're not girl-you're tougher mentally than most students. Sooooooooooooo, pray on it and if the Lord wants you thru that Chem course for whatever He has in store for you, He'll help you "finish that race" too...Stonewall Jackson, a VMI teacher and great Cilvil War General once said, "YOU MAY
BE WHATEVER YOU RESOLVE TO BE", Jackson, 1864. I would add, "IF it be in His will". Just pray on it girl and He'll help you. We're
never alone in this life and He wants us to rely on Him. I love you very much and am very proud of you. God bless. Dad

Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope you are staying safe, we pray everyday for God to watch over all of our people in Iraq. Tell Erin that Elizabeth is struggling with the chemistry class in High School (taking it for college credit now). But Gee, kids today push themselves, I think if anyone got a "B" in Chemistry when we were in school we'd consider ourselves in the "genious" status!! Sounds like she's doing better than she gives herself credit for. Hope the time passes quickly, and February will be here before anyone knows it! We keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Take Care and God Bless. Shalom. --Cheryl
Hey Buff! I've been keeping up with your updates and wanted you to know I'm still thinking of you and prayin my heart out that you'll make it home safe and sound and accomplished. Sounds like you're doing a great job, and like so many others, I just want to say thank you! You and everyone else over there are defining the Christmas message - to love and give uncondtionally. God bless you for it! Merry Christmas Buff!
Cheryl...Very true. Erin wants to excel and doesn't always think she can do things until she does them...like run a marathon or get a "B" in Chem! Thanks for your kindness and support of my girls and WIlliam. Merry CHRISTmas
Brenna...you've "got it" girl, but then again, we knew that back in the summer a long time ago right? Love to the family and keep doin the good things...
