Almost 4 months in Country

Hope you liked the pics of Anna Renee ...isn't she a beauty? Last night the Army hooked me up with Colette and family on a Video Conference and it was the best thing that happened to me since arriving...it was great seeing my family again and I'm so thankful. Look forward to seein the rest of ya in Feb...won't be long now...

Just a brief update now that Ramadan is over. This past month has been hectic as we pushed our contractors thru the holiday season whenever possible and dealt with the uptick in mortar attacks simultaneously. Quite an experience wearing body amour and helmuts while diggin mortar rounds out of the parking areas whenever we find them. At first, it took some getting used to the alarms sounding about "incomin", but soon it we learned to work thru it, albeit uncomfortably. These things are 40 lbs and when you wear them for 14-15 hours a day, they get kinda heavy after a while until your legs get used to them. After a while, it becomes another day at the shop. Sooooooooo, here are the latest pics of the biggest postal facility in Iraq...enjoy and be thankful we have some very good professionals here takin care of business while helping these "insurgents" find their way to "72 virginville"... Ooooohah

Comments:
Lisa...Ya make me cry girl. First, thanks for all you do at school and for the kids. I know Ms Callery is blessed to have you and you, her. Sorry she's a bit off her game now but she'll be back because she's tough and a great example for us all and I don't think He's thru with her yet... Please give her my love and know she's in my prayers.
You'll be fine because you know in the final analysis it's not what our family thinks of us or that we've done so much "hard time" for them and feel like ..."enough already" etc etc. None of that matters because He knows all about "hard time" and all about what we did with the time He gave us here...that's what matters -in the end, right? Soooooooo, if the kids and family and friends are smart, they'll watch you move thru this life and try to emulate you because you "get it" girl...

Richard...Thank you brother. It's guys like you that make this trip worthwhile. There's a whole lot of younger versions here that can shoot straighter than us though...thankfully!!! LOL Look forward to seein ya in Feb. God bless

Christina...thanks for the prayers. As you saw at Mass, He answered them "in Aces" or "spades" , whatever...Isn't she a beauty...nothing like her Granpa ...more like her Mom, Granma and Aunts...Thank the Lord!Only claim for me is she has 25% of my b---s, gumption ...LOL. Love to girls and Steve.

Godatway...What a surprise. Thought you fagot me yah Cher wid all da blowin and da rain yeh cher!!! LOL You're my man J...keep doin good things for fam and folks and make Uncle Buff proud. Love Mom and Dad and clan...God bless.

Colette...Nice to hear "godatway Uncle Buff" is still usin puter. Figured he was drivin big trucks now and couldn't use laptop anymore on the road...LOL Anyway, good to hear from godatway again. Maybe he'll want to follow Garrick's footsteps and become a helluva good soldier after he finishes drivin aroun so much...Thanks again for the care package. Love ya girl...er Granma

Erin...I hope you do find time to go home Thanksgiving. Our family has so much to be thankful for. It would make Mom happy to have all of you there and since you're the oldest, it's up to you to set the example for the others. Besides, it'll give you a few days to recover from your 1/2 marathon , relax and "beef up" so you'll want to run it off while getting into shape for the Boston, right? LOL I love you and miss you all. Try to stay in touch with the blog...

Lisa...Thanks for sharing your time with the kids and William. What you do back home by teaching them at this age that to give a hand to help others is what Jesus did for us. That lesson at this age will help them throughout their lives and I'm blessed to have someone like you there to reinforce what these soldiers are doing every day here. I'll send an email to Colette for you to read to them and tthanks again. Love to Wes and kids...

Glad to help. Thank you for asking. God bless.
